The Academy will offer Jiu Jitsu in three forms: Gi, No Gi, and Combative.
Gi and No Gi are quite similar yet different. Both are for sport Jiu Jitsu. Gi will require a kimono or what the Jiu Jitsu industry calls “Gi”. No Gi does not require one to wear a Gi, instead a compression shirt and board shorts are sought after.
Combative classes are more focused on self defense situations where we will use padded gloves and simulate live scenarios to prepare our students to deal with similar situations.
Youth programs will be similar in the Gi and No Gi sessions. Combative sessions for Youth will not utilize padded gloves but teaching them how to avoid conflict and defend themselves is key.
All programs will be systematically broken down for our students. Each session will build on the previous techniques so following along is easy and the knowledge is not difficult to grasp. The goal is for individuals that show up to develop systems which help them understand Jiu Jitsu on a different level than what is being taught currently in most Academies.
